DAGMAR offers scientific support in vector design and transgenesis of porcine cells for somatic cell nuclear transfer. Transgenesis is performed in fetal or newborn fibroblasts from the Yucatan minipig strain. Available technologies include 1) random transgene integration and 2) site-specific mutagenesis of endogenous pig genes (knockout/knockin) using a platform of conventional and state-of-the-art technologies incl. plasmid-based, transposon-mediated, and virus-mediated gene transfer. Vector construction is facilitated by access to the latest updates of pig genome sequencing data.
